The AHRA Board met two times for the period 2014-2015 as follows:

2. ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS
2.1 Country Reports
At every meeting, each member country took turns to briefly report on the performance of the tourism and hotel industry in their country.
The AHRA Board met two times for the period 2014-2015. No quorum was present for the AHRA board meeting on 16 May 2014 at The Oriental, Legazpi, The Philippines and therefore, the meeting was cancelled.
2.3 AHRA Bartenders’ Championship
The 11th AHRA Bartenders’ Championship 2014 took place in Yangon on 20 June 2014. It was held in conjunction with the 1st Food & Hotel Myanmar Expo 2014. The competition was organized by the Myanmar Restaurant Association on behalf of AHRA.
A total of 9 participants from the following countries participated in the competition:
- Malaysia 2
- Myanmar 3
- Singapore 2
- Thailand 2
The final results of the competition were as follows:
- Winner: Mr Kyaw Zin Htun @ Kelvin, Myanmar
- 1st Runner-up: Mr Pramote Wetsupakul, Thailand
- 2nd Runner-up: Mr Phyo Nyi Nyi Aung @ Leo, Myanmar
3. Collaboration with Horwath International
3.1 Regional Briefing
Mr Robert Hecker, Managing Director of Horwath International was invited
to share with AHRA members an update on the performance of hotels in the
key cities in ASEAN. This took place at the meeting in Nay Pyi Taw,
Myanmar on 25 January 2015. Members found the briefing very informative.
3.2 AHRA’s ASEAN Annual Hotel Industry Survey of Operations 2014 for Financial Year 2013
AHRA in collaboration with Horwath HTL produced the fifth report on hotel
operations in some key cities located in AHRA member countries, namely,
Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila/Cebu and Ho Chi Minh
City/Hanoi. The report was shared with all AHRA members at the meeting in
January in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the same meeting, Mr Robert Hecker of Horwath HTL also shared the
projections of the key ASEAN cities for 2015 with AHRA members.
